Etching Ink   Vegetable oil followed by degreasing with Magnesium Carbonate

Future Floor Wax 
Full strength 
Hard Ground 
Stop out- use 2 thin coats rather than one thick coat.  One thick coat will usually crack when drying
Remember that there is no need to remove the Future from Hard Ground plates if minimal or no plate tone is desired. 

Within 24 hours: 
5:1 ammonia 
or ImagOn Developer 
(1 t. soda ash: 1 liter water) 

After 24 hours: 
10:1 ammonia 
or Comet 
or Mr. Clean

Coat etching plate to serve as a barrier for inks from contamination by metal. 5 water : 1 ammonia  ....

Black #1659 is used as a soft ground 
Soap and water
Wash with cold or cool water, warm will dry

Salt / Vinegar Solution 3 T salt to 1 cup vinegar 
(copper oxidizes - in the ferric chloride and needs to be cleaned 

Removes copper oxidation after the ferric etch 
Follow up with a water rinse.

Soy Sauce and water mixture can be used as a substitute.

Remover of  ImagOn: 
4% soda ash in water 
cleans plate in 30 min- 2 hours. 
Developing strength will remove ImagOn overnight

for the development procedure.  Repeated use of the developer solution can dry out the skin and cause a dermatitis reaction on the hands. 

Eye Protection
RECOMMENDED
The developer is an alkaline solution it is essential not to splash any of this developing solution into your eyes..
