Round corners of plate with file | Sand plate with 320 grit wet/dry sandpaper to degrease plate | ||

Remove inner mylar backing (from inside curl). | Spritz with laminating solution. | 1 part rubbing 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol mixed with 3 parts water. | Place copper plate face down on ImagOn. |
Place "removed" mylar (or newsprint) on top of copper plate to protect press blankets from the ImagOn film. | Place press blankets on top of film / plate layers and run through the press. | Place press blankets on top of film / plate layers and run through the press. | Trim edges of film with a sharp utility knife. |

Olec Exposure Unit. Place artwork & plate in vacuum frame. |
Rubylith blocks light from portions of the plate when making exposure tests. | Lower glass cover and release safety latch. |
Establish vacuum. Make exposure using integrator. |
A variety of media can be used as the original artwork for use with ImagOn film. Examples of media include pencil on mylar or vellum and computer output from PhotoShop printed on transparency or vellum. |

Remove protective mylar | Dissolve unexposed areas in a 10% soda ash solution | Rinse under tepid water | Squeegee excess water from plate. |

Dry plate with hair dryer on air setting. | Expose plate in exposure unit for an additional exposure at 4 times the aquatint exposure. | Sand edges of plate with 400 grit we/dry sandpaper at 45 degree angle. | |

Apply etching ink with a small square of mat board. | Wipe ink off surface of plate with used tarlatan. | With a fresh ball of tarlatan, clean top surface of plate. | Newsprint as a final wipe helps control plate tone. |

Soak paper for 20 minutes. | Place printing paper between blotters to remove excess water from paper. | ||

Place inked plate on top of newsprint | Place damp paper on inked plate | Lower blankets & print the image. | Check finished image quality. |
